  • Find independent clips in sequence

    Hi all:

Is there a way to find all the independent clips (i.e., the ones that don’t have master clips imported into the browser) in a sequence? We’ve been editing some quite long and complex projects, in which it was common to import a sequence from someone else, copy & paste clips from that sequence into your own… and now I’m getting ready to archive the projects, and I’d like to have all the media used in each project imported properly. I’ve tried selecting everything in a sequence and dragging to the browser, but of course, it creates new master clips for everything, not only the independent clips.

    Thanks in advance,

    Paulo.

You can perform a match frame command on each clip in the Canvas… those that don’t have a browser clip associated with them will pull open a dialog box asking if you’d like to import them into the browser.

    Hi,

There is no “reveal independent” functionality as far as i know.
However if your different project media are located in different folders (in finder) you can use this to identify what clips came from what project.
If its ingested in same project, this won´t help you out:

Move your project A media to a new location, for instance a external Harddrive.
Copy your project file and make your sequence media offline. – (leave on disk)
reconnect to external HD ( where only project A media is located).

    Just an idea,
    Andreas
