Rather than override the Mac OS’s decision to use F10, F11, and F12 for volume controls, I was thinking that I would just remap insert, overwrite, and replace to F13, F14, and F15 respectively. In trying to do so, the keyboard mapping tool told me that F14 and F15 are reserved. Does anyone know what they are reserved for? If it’s not something critical, how can I unreserve it?

    Thanks in advance!

    Hi Jeff,

[Jeff York] “the keyboard mapping tool told me that F14 and F15 are reserved”
The keyboard mapping tool in FCP i guess?

Have you been here: apple symbol (the one on top left on your screen) -> System settings -> keyboard and mouse -> keyboard shorts.

Here you can unable whats ON in the OS.

(I’m on a Norwegian system so there might be a slight difference in terminology 😉
