A question about storage
Hi all,
Prob a quick and easy question about storage.
I have been using an external FW800 drive to store all my live video on and editing from there, I had to up my storage and am now left with a question.
I have purchased 2 WD black 2TB drives and was going to install them to my external FW800 raid1 case, after bench testing the drives they transfer data at above the FW800 speed so should I add them internally and work from there (wouldn’t be set up as RAD1) or am I best keeping them inside my enclosure

one other thing, I do have an external SATA dock that can take 1 drive at a time so that is another option.

If you install them internally or using the eSata dock, they’d be faster, albeit less portable. You can also raid them internally, so you don’t have to lose that feature at all.
