Newbie trying to import old footage on 3/4″ tape run thru a DVcam deck via Analog inputs to deck out firewire direct to Macpro….FCP see’s no vid. no audio…tried a myriad of settings….Ended up having to go thru my Video card ( LoHi ).which was ok….but I’ve imported via capture DV source material directly into FCP….Why would this be different…?…I’ll hang up and wait for my answer………..

Your i/o card probably has a framesync which “stabilizes” the video signal so FCP is happy.

I think I’m bypassing the video card as I’m going straight in the firewire socket on the computer to FCP….and as I said I can log/capture dv material no problem….did the non-controllable deck etc….
