  eliminating motion blur in a slowed-down clip

  Hi folks,
  I recently upgraded to FCP Version 7, and I’ve been having to re-learn the time/speed controls as they’ve significantly changed that part of the viewer window. One thing they did away with was the check box to turn off frame-blending–this effect now seems to be a standard effect whenever you slow a clip down. Does anyone have some insight into how to turn this off? I’m working with 24F video, and I don’t like the look when the frames are blended upon slowing the video down. I’ve looked through the preferences window but have found no help there so far. Any suggestions from you guys would be much appreciated.

  Viewer window? Don’t need to do that unless you plan on keyframing. Just highlight the clip and press cmd+j. They’ve updated this window to allow ease in/out controls, which is probably why you used to use the viewer window before. And the frame blending check box is still right there. Also, a new ripple seqeunce check box too. Why they didn’t do this 10 years ago is beyond me. Maybe in FCP 8 we can copy an paste keyframes!

  I figured the process would be something as simple as this–a nice improvement, too.
