Blur effect transition
I’ve seen a commonly used transition that resembles a cross between a flash to white dissolve and a blur effect. It looks like the whites are effected mostly by the blur. Does anyone know what i’m talking about?
If so, where would I find a tutorial on creating such a transition. My same old transitions are looking pretty early-nineties.

Try keyframing the tolerance on either the glow filter or the bloom filter. Both are in the effects category of glow. It might give you what you are looking for.
