  • issue with sequence settings!

Hey Guys working on a film shot at 720P at 25 fps and im having an issue with a specific sequence in my FCP project.
Whats happened was i have pasted the contents of my entire sequence into a new one as i was having an issue with the “general render error” that kept popping up whenever i applied cross fades or simple transitions to the footage.
When i did this it fixed the problem, however… id forgotten that my “easy setup” was configured to HDV 1440×1080, so when i pasted the footage over it seems to of automatically upscaled all my footage to 150 percent inside the motion tab automatically to accommodate my sequence settings im assuming? Which in itself is weird, shouldnt it ask me to match my sequence to my footage?
Ive gone ahead and finsihed editing in this timeline and at the last minute before rendering out for dvd noticed that my titles where pixelated, and then realized that the sequence setting were wrong.
So i changed them back to HD XD CAM 720P25 square pixels which im 100 percent positive is the right format. I then scaled down all my footage from 150 to 100 percent, thinking everything would be sweet but its cropped the footage off at the sides as if it thinks the footage is 4×3?, the aspect looks wrong, Ive checked the cropping options inside the motion tab and nothing has been changed there, ive tried pasting into a new sequence with the correct setting… no dice.
Ive checked the source footage and its absoulutley HD -1280X720p, the exact same setting ive got in my problematic sequence.
My Old sequence is fine, scale is 100 percent and theres no cropping, and it matches my new sequence perfectly in terms of format setting.
What the hell is going on? Its like theres some sort of issue with fcp interperating the footage?
So frustrating as the whole film is ready to go exept for this small issue.
Any help would be awesome, thanks guys,
    Dustin

Your clips not only has been up-sized, but also distorted.
Select the footage on the sequence and “Remove Attributes> Basic Motion + Distort”.

You have this set like that in the preferences.
