I have a post that’s about a week old on a problem I had where .scc file(s) were hanging up Final Cut7 when added to the Print to Video menu. When I added an .scc file and clicked “OK” in Print to Video, the program would hang up and I would have to force quit out of it. All of the .scc files were emailed from a caption house and were referenced to a Quicktime movie for timing.
Finally today I suggested that they try and send the .scc files a different way. I had wondered if they were getting corrupted somehow when going via email.
They sent them via YouSendIt instead. I downloaded the files and they worked perfectly. It seems that somewhere in the process of emailing the files they were getting messed up and something was getting changed enough to hang the program.
So…try not to send .scc files as email attachments.Instead send via FTP or YouSendIt or anything EXCEPT email.
Just thought you’s all like to know…
    Tom

If in doubt, get them to zip the file first before adding as an email attachment. That also solves the problem.
