  final output format question

  Hi.
  I’m working on a film project (digital animation) to be submitted to film festivals. Some of the festivals allow submission for consideration on DVD. However, if the film is selected, they need a final exhibition copy on 35 mm film, 16 mm film, or HDCAM.

  Is it possible to convert to any of those formats from Final Cut Pro?

  Yes. I output to HDCAM all the time. Take your project to a post facility capable of this. It requires additional hardware. HDCAM will be the cheapest option.

  Thanks for the information. HDCAM is the cheapest. Can you give me an idea how much is costs (ballpark — I know it varies by where you go) — for a 90 minute film? I’m afraid that having to convert it will be cost prohibitive and my film won’t be able to screen.
