Reattaching A Clip’s Audio
So I have a scene I’m editing, and when I was bringing in audio that I recorded from a boom mic, I deleted the clip’s original audio and synced up the boom mic audio. I’m realizing that I will want to have both the clips original audio as well as the boom audio when I send it off for post work. Is there an easy way to find the clips original audio and bring it back to the timeline? Or do I need to re-edit the entire scene and pop the clips back in the timeline? Help!

Use Match Frame to bring up the original clip and then edit in the original audio.

Sometimes, however, I’ve edited the clip in the timeline so it doesnt match exactly anymore the clip in the browser. Is there another way to do this?

You can match frame to any clip in your timeline. I recently had a series of clips that were covered by b-roll. The client wanted to go back to talking heads. Match frame made it easy to recover the video.
