    Hello everyone,

Ok, i am sure this has been talked over and over, but I am not seeing any recent info on it. I am wondering about the best way to get p2 cards read and ingested into my new macbook pro. I have a panosonic hpx300 and realize I can probably ingest through firewire but wanting to see about all my options. If I send through firewire, is it real time? I would really like to insert the card and not have to use the camera for ingest.

    Thank you,

    Brad

The Duel Adapter solution is faster than Firewire, and doesn’t tie up the camera, not much else out there. Panny has a reader… it’s not cheap. https://catalog2.panasonic.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ModelDetail?displayTab=O&storeId=11201&catalogId=13051&itemId=278232&catGroupId=34402&surfModel=AJ-PCD20P

You’ll need a 17″ machine for the Duel setup. Is that what you bought?

Yes, I have the 17″. How much is the dual?

Stay away from the Duel, it’s not even Snow Leopard supported.

Next best is the Sonnet Qio, then you can start looking at Panny readers which are the best, but priciest. They have a new one card USB reader that’s cheaper, but only one card.

AJ-PCD2 Single-slot P2 Card Reader is an excellent investment. ShotputPro should also be added to the list.

I can offload a full 64GB card in 37 minutes with the AJ-PCD2.

Oh yeah, I forgot about that.

Panny’s players for this are nice. I’ve noticed too. They are certainly less expensive than the decks are.
