I am editing a wedding and have recorded some audio using Digital Voice Recorders (Olympus DS-40). All the audio files are WMA files, and I stupidly didn’t realise that these aren’t accepted on macs.

    I have downloaded this:https://www.iorgsoft.com/Audio-Converter-for-Mac/

which seemed to do the trick- i converted a file to AIFF.

But for some reason nearly half of the clip has disappeared after conversion. It was 3.75 minutes, it is now exactly 2minutes. Very strange!

Does anyone have any experience in using WMA files with FCP?

    thanks, Mark

Try using MPEG Streamclip. It’s a free download. I think you also need a player from Flip4Mac that may also be free.

I can’t seem to find the link for the player you’ve mentioned… any ideas?

When I put Flip4Mac into Google, the first entry was this link

    https://www.telestream.net/flip4mac-wmv/overview.htm

The link works so I don’t understand why you couldn’t find it.
