  • Splitting a video into 2 halves (LEFT half file & RIGHT half file)

Posted by Victor Ingrassia on June 17, 2010 at 3:51 pm

I have a 1600×600 pixel video from which I need to export 2 separate output QuickTime files… a LEFT half Quicktime (800×600 pixels) and a RIGHT half QuickTime (800×600 pixels). Each file needs to be precisely half of the full image… so I need to be able to set the output by numbers, not by eyeballing it.

This is for a large format public video screen which requires a right file and a left file to make up the full 1600×600 image.

I’m sure this is gonna be very simple… but I’m having a brain freeze right now. Help please!

Make an 800×600 timeline and move the picture over to 400 and then repeat at -400. These should the x value in the motion tab’s center proerty.
