  • Moving to Snow Leopard – any issues?

    Hi,

I’ve just got a new machine that comes with Snow Leopard, and I’m planning on using it mostly to run FCP. Somewhere in the recesses of my brain I have the vague recollection of a few teething problems that FCP users were experiencing on SL. Have they all been ironed out? Is there anything I need to be aware of? I’m thinking particularly of XDCAM issues – but any issues you experience would be useful to know about.

Basically I’m trying to figure out if I should dig out my Tiger discs and stick with the devil I know.

I’m running 6.0.6 at the mo.

    Many thanks,

    James

Sorry – should have mentioned that I’m running 6.0.6 at the mo.

If done properly, should work just fine.

    Get needed drivers.
    Do a clean install.
Manually install QT7 from the SL disc.

Been running 6.0.6 /SL since SL came out. All is well.

There certainly were a lot of early issues with esata cards and drivers. Make sure SL is updated to the latest. A search of this forum will show you all the Snow Leopard threads.
