a station here in town requires 80mbps
mpeg hd transport streams for file delivery of hd tv spots.

    Compressor won’t go beyond 40.

    1. is there any way to trick compressor into doing 80?

    2. if not, will bitvice do 80mbps HD transport streams?

I’ve been looking for a reason to purchase bitvice beyond
the fact it encodes cleaner looking mpeg than compressor.

    any suggestions appreciated.

I don’t think BitVice will. I’d have to check, but I’m away from it. I don’t think it does HD either ( or transport streams). You should look at Episode.

BitVice works only in SD, and the top data rate is 9 Mbps.

I forgot I had adobe media encoder (part of after effects cs4 install)
and it encodes these perfectly at 80mbps. really fast too.
my pc took 22 minutes to do it and the octo-core with media encoder took 2 minutes.

    Looks really good.

at 80mbps per sec though even the worst encoder should do ok
    if no resizing me thinks.
