Lost my Array while editing, then White Screen of Death…..
I was editing some test footage from a Panasonic TM700 Handicam yesterday in FCP7 in 1080 50P mode (damn the footage from that camera is amazing), when my media array disappeared from the desktop. I’ve tried all manner of things and ending up accidently locking my data backup drive (it now has a padlock on the icon and won’t let me in).
Now the Mac pro won’t boot and gets stuck on the white screen and spinning icon at startup.
I know this is not exactly a FCP problem, but I’m hoping another user may have seen this before. I’m running a 2009 8-core Mac Pro, Snow Leopard, 16gb RAM, 8Tb RAID5 with a Highpoint 3522 controller. I sense the issue is with the controller or Highpoint driver. The drives in the Enhance EM-8 enclosure all show green and look fine.
Anyway, my question is; if I nuke the OS and reinstall everything, will I be able to access that backup data drive (currently locked with the padlock icon) after I reinstdall? I’ve copied the “C-drive” FCP Auto-save Vault to it so I’ll need to access that drive.
Are there any re-activation issues I should be aware of with OSX and FCS?
Many thanks,
