  • Can I leave the Viewer Muted?

Hey all! Is there a way I can mute the Viewer window in FCP? I tried loading a clip and using the Audio Mixer (and selecting Viewer), pulling the levels down to mute it but when I load another clip in the viewer, the audio has returned. Is there a way to keep the audio muted in the Viewer? (also I don’t really feel like having to hit mute on my keyboard every time i go from my timeline to the Viewer). Thanks!!!

FCP wasn’t designed to do this. Sounds like the audio portion of your video is not important.

    That’s just being lazy.

If your system was setup correctly, you would turn your speakers up or down.

I’m guessing you don’t have a mixer hooked up to your Mac?
