  • Getting HVX 200 24p footage into native 23.98 sequence

Posted by Josua Fischer on May 21, 2010 at 10:05 pm

    Hello,
I have a problem, I shot a project on the 7D in 1080 24p, which is native 23.98fps. And I shot on the HVX 200 in 720p 24p not knowing that it actually is 29.97 with a 2:3 pulldown. now my question is how do I get both of these into a 23.98 sequence.
Thank you in advance for your advice, this is quite urgent.

Try mpeg streamclip, keep the codec of the D7

    I hope this helps

P.S. You have to change all the 720p to 1080

All you need to do it to Remove Duplicate Frames in Log and Transfer and it will be 23.98 clips. but you still have a codec and size difference. You should take the 720p clip that are now 23.98 and convert them to ProRes and 1080p to match the 7D clips.

Next time you should shoot the HVX in 1080i24pA and that would be a better match to the 7D.

Thanks very much, we kind of figured it out, I selected the clip and went to tools> remove advanced pull down and it turned it into 23.98fps, the only problem is that it is still interlaced at times since it removed an advanced pull down cadence of 2-3-3-2 instead of the normal one of 2-3. at the moment I am trying to figure out how to do it in avid. but thank you very much for the quick responses.
