  simultaneous capture and record to tape?

  Hello,
  I’m filming an event and I’m trying to capture to FCP via firewire while recording to tape. I used the standard HDV 1080p24 basic firewire easy setup. And the files appear to be capturing while we’re rolling, but at the end, despite the fact that the file size looks large enough for an hour of HDV recording, the file only plays back about 17 min. in duration. Can anyone tell me what might be wrong with my settings?

  What drive was the capture now going to? Is it formatted Fat32 by any chance. Do you have a capture size limit set too low in the System Settings?

  It was a Lacie Drive that was formatted for Mac only using Lacie’s install wizard. As for the system settings, I confirmed that the capture was going to that drive and deselected the capture now limit. So I’m still pretty confused.
