  Slow Import

  Having Very slow imports. All the latest updates, One system imports P2 footage like a hot knife thru butter One takes forever. An Ideas?????????? Thanks in advance.

  A cut is a cut & a dissolve is a disolve, and not just anybody with a system is a pro.

  Where is the P2 footage stored? On a firewire drive? And then you are importing onto what? Another firewire drive? One firewire bus, going both in an out? One possibility.

  How about some more information? What version of FCP on both, what computers used for both? Where is the P2 footage backups coming from…imports going to…on both.

  Yes more info. Original location is Xserve. xfer via Cat6?. To a 2TB Raid on ATTO express card.
