    Couple questions….

When droppings plugin effects (such as Boris or Sapphire) sometimes it will make the screen go blank then I have to restart FCP 7. If blank, and I render blank, it comes out…..blank… I’m wondering if this is my graphics card?

    Mac Pro 2009 “Nehelem”
    2.26 2×4-core
    NVIDIA GT 120
    12GB RAM
    Internal RAID-0 (Software) Disktester @ 350 MB/sec read/write using 4x 1TB WD Caviar Black
Editing in ProRes LT 24p 1920×1080

While I’m here, might as well as another question… 3 monitors in FCP… I know it doesnt support it, but I was considering a BlackMagic (or other if recommended) to output HDMI to a40″ LED LCD… If I do that, am I REALLY choking that GT 120 graphics card? My goal is to use that LCD as a playback for FCP, but also as a 3rd extended monitor when not using FCP… Would that mean I need a Black Magic AND another Graphics card?

    Thanks folks

Have you tried trashing your FCP Cache files:

To do so go to the “GO” menu in finder and choose home. Then navigate to Library> Preferences> Final Cut Pro User Data. Trash the “Final Cut Pro OBJ Cache” and “Final Cut Pro Prof Cache”
