  FCP 7 Strange behavior digitizing

  In the last few days I’ve run into a strange behavior while digitizing DVCPRO HD tapes. I’m using a Kona 3 card in a MacPro dual quad core, wi 10 gigs of ram & an Xserve Raid for video drive.

  Digitizing in DVCPROHD 29.97/1080i. The program goes thru the motions of digitizing and reports all is well, but the clip doesn’t get digitized. trashed my FCP preferences, but still the same result. Called Kona & they suggesting trashing QT prefs, which seemed to fix the problem temporarily. It’s happened twice more in the last couple of days and the solution was to trash QT prefs, but why is this all of a sudden becoming an issue when it’s never happened before.

  With the first occurrence I changed video drives, but that didn’t have any effect.

  Any ideas or insights?
