Going from ProRes to another format?
I just found out the place where I am going to be showing this video does not have an HD projector, so it may not make sense to be working in this heavy ProRes HQ format.
What format do you recommend I switch to, and how do I switch between formats without having to make all the same edits again?
I used MPEGstream to transfer the files to ProRes which I originally shot on a Canon 7D.

Playing back from external hard drives or the internal one? If I had high speed drives, I’d make a ProRes sequence and drag and drop into that.
I wouldn’t play off the computer’s main HD.
You might consider making a DVD to avoid possible dropped frames, etc.

There is no reason to change anything with your edit. Stay with the ProRes and your HD sequence settings. Once the edit is complete you can use Compressor to make a file in a suitable format for playback of a computer.
Talk to the people who are doing the screening to determine a suitable file format to use for playback. As Kevin said, that may be a good old DVD or it may be H264 depending on the playback computer type & media player software being used.
