  Workflow Problem

  Wondering if anyone can help me. Im using FCP 7 on a macbook pro to ingest footage from a SXS card, then i need to transfer the project which has XDCAM footage filmed on a Sony EX1R over to a G5 which has FCP 6. My question is how do i edit this footage, anytime i try render it it says “codec not found. You may be using a compression type without the corresponding hardware card”

  Is there anyway around this or anyway of downloading this Codec??

  What version of FCP 6 does the other system have? It might be an earlier version which doesn’t have the EX flavour of XDCam codec. Try updating the version to 6.0.6 which was a stable and fully featured final version of FCP6.

  Thanks michael, I managed to upgrade to 6.0.4, seems to work fine now. Was this version stable? I don’t want to run into problems a few weeks down the line. Thanks.
