Our department makes programs for a county wide cable channel. We edit on FCP. We use the basic program stream setting in Compresser to compress our programs. This is needed because we air it and stream it on TV and the web.

On Friday, I compressed a show and got video, BUT NO AUDIO. I tried another my computer and had the same luck.

On Monday, I tried a different computer. This time I got audio out. The difference between this computer and the other two was this one ran on FCP 6.0.5. The other two ran on FCP 6.0.6. The Compresser version was the same on all three, 3.0.5.

    Any ideas.

Using MAC OS X VERSION 10.5.8 on all computers.

Porgram stream settings: MPEG 2, set to mTSC Video format, frame rate of 29.97, aspect ratio 4:3, field dominance is bottom first, quality is 6.0 to 9.0, GOP structure is IBBP and sized to 15, and multiplexed to MPEG 1/Layer 2 Audio in program stream.

I always export to my desktop.

I use Western Scartch Discs where my video files are stored. All video files are quicktime files.

I edit in FCP, currently on version 6.0.6.

If there is anything else, let me know and I will provide it.

    Thank you for the assistance.

Was the audio missing from the muxed file or were you simply unable to hear it on the mac?
