We are working on a big project with massive amounts of HD p2 video and working with final cut pro 7. I have the p2 files on two external hard drives (one is a backup) and tried to use the second external drive to work on a different system (with fcp7 as well). I transfered the project file to the new system and the media won’t reconnect. I haven’t changed any file names or other information……do i need to “mirror” the hard drive for backup? I am a little confused…to say the least.

The other issue is we wanted to work off the external hard drives without “capturing” it into the system……we mistakingly formated the external hard drives for fat32 (because we were taking p2footage off a pc laptop). If we reformat one to mac osx can we work with the footage directly off the drive instead of capturing it?
