  • no 1080p choice in Compressor???

Posted by Nick Natteau on April 9, 2010 at 4:20 pm

I have some 480i DV footage that I need to upconvert to 1080p.

I wish to use Compressor for this but I find that Compressor only has 720p and 1080i settings but no 1080p option to upconvert to. What are my options in Compressor???

    Thanks very much in advance,

    Nick

    Hi Nicholas,
    Set:
    – “Control Frame” ON.
    – Resize Filter: BEST.
    – Output Field: Progressive
    – Deinterlace: BETTER or BEST.

Hi Rafael and thank you for helping. I already made all those selections.

But is there no way to select 1080p? Am I missing something?

    Or can I manually enter 1920 x 1080?

Look in the geometry tab. There’s a preset in one of the resolution pulldowns.

under advanced format conversions choose high definition and “HD uncompressed 8-bit 1080p24”
Go to the encoder tab and click the video setting button. A window will open up and here you can change your frame rate to whatever you are using in your original footage. You can also change your compression type at the top to whatever codec you wish. I would turn your frame controls on and use the better or best functions on the resize filter
