Can\’t seem to figure this one out. I have a mic with XLR to mini. I plug it into the mic in behind the tower and FCP just gets no signal. I also have a Kona 3 with K Box and a 2 channel UB802 mixer. I have no idea how to get this into the tower from there or the mini jack. Any ideas? Fcp 7. Quad Intel tower.

What kind of mic? Some mics need to be routed through a mixer in order to work. They typically are condenser mics that don’t have any internal power, like a battery. They need the mixer to provide the power, and the boost to the audio. If your’s lacks self contained power, that’s most likely why it isn’t working.

And the Kona 3 doesn’t have analog audio inputs, only AES. So a mic won’t work with it. You need either a mixer, or a USB mic.
