AVID Interplay
I did a search on this topic and came up with some old posts and I’m not sure if they are relevant anymore. How does this work and is anyone using it?

Currently we use automatic duck for our needs, but this looks like it’s worth exploring.

Yep. That’s why I’m asking here. It’s because we use FCP. According to the description it looks as though it bypasses the automatic duck step when mixing FCP with Avid projects. We have a mix of systems at our company and anything that makes them play nice together is helpful.
I’ll cross post in the Avid forum as well. It just seems like more FCP people have come from Avid backgrounds than Avid people from FCP backgrounds.

My own brief experience of it was painful – it’s also used in AVID>EVS integration. Unity is an overpriced nightmare as well.
Have you looked at the universal codec option from Editshare?
