issues locating media when matching back to bin from sequence copied from duplicate project
hello friends,
i am working on a project and having problems matching back to footage in a bin from a sequence i copied from a duplicate project. here’s the jist of it. i’m cutting a TV show and am cutting in the master project. my assistant is a busy cutting selects in a duplicate project. when his selects are finished, i open his project and copy his sequence into a bin in my project. when i open his sequence, find a clip i like, i match back to the bin (shift+f) to get to the footage so i can also have access to clips that were shot around the same time. sadly, when i do this from his sequences, it’s not matching back to my master footage bin. instead, it’s telling me i need to import the footage because it doesn’t exist in the project.
is there anyway to reset the metadata from the media associated to my assistants sequences so when i matchback to the bin, it finds the media in my project and look for it in his?
this is a huge issue i’ve found with final cut over the years and now it’s really becoming an issue with this current project. hoping someone else had solved this issue.
all the best,
will
