Ran into an interesting situation…shooting with 3 cameras, 2, recording on S X S cards, the third recording to Nano Flash in 35mbs format. I have a 1 hour continuous take recorded. On the SXS cards (32GB) it went down fine, but on the Nano Flash which is a Fat32 device since they need it to be compatible with Mac & PC’s the clip is divided into 5 clips (3.76 GB each).

I’m doing a multicam edit so when I select the in point of the first clip from the Nano Flash, I’m only getting 1/5th of my take. Is there an easy way to combine multiple clips in FCP to bypass the process of putting them on the timeline and exporting as one clip.

    thx…jw

I’ve never done this, but try laying them out in a sequence with the same settings as the clips. Then Export a QT using current settings as either self-contained or ref. Do not check recompress. Then import that combined clip and use it in your multicam seq.

That’s the step I was trying to avoid, but you brought up an interesting time saver. I could just make it a reference movie and save quite a bit of time I think.
