FCP 7.0.1 crashing on export (solved)
Recently had a problem with FCP crashing on export.
I was working in a DVPAL timeline and had imported some transcoded material. All edited and rendered and played as per normal, but I could not export a reference movie or a self contained file… it crashed every time.
However…on checking the playback on a TV monitor I noticed that my imported clips had the wrong field interpolation. A quick fix with the Shift fields filter and exported- no dramas. It has happened again tonight…with just one 3 sec clip the wrong field…
Just thought this may be handy for others as it’s happened to me three times in two weeks ..and unless you can view on a TV monitor (and not just on your computer) you can’t find the fault.
