The subject pretty much says it all. FCP and I get along just fine until I start mixing resolutions. HD/SD or 1080/720. It’s a matter of time, sometimes 30 minutes, sometimes 30 seconds. First, the viewer or canvas window will start flashing dark green while playing the clip. If I continue to edit, it will crash, either during playback or while dropping a new clip on the timeline. I’ve talked to Apple, posted on forums, talked to tech support with the people who sold me the machine, tested the ram, blah blah blah. Does anybody know what is going on?

    2×2.8 Quad Core intel xeon
    12 gig ram
    Final Cut Pro 6.0.6

I’m not sure what the problem actually ended up being, but what I did was create several smaller new projects and split the big project up into them. I think either the project was corrupted or it was really gigantic. Since I did that, I haven’t had any problems
