    Hello everyone,
    I just had to wipe my final cut 7 because we were reverting back to 6. I had a hell of a time trying to reinstall the studio because our computer thought fcp was still installed on the system even though it was not so on the installer the fcp application was greyed out and would just state “skip”. After about 3 hours of searching the internet and blowing off every fcp file i could think of we found our solution. We are running snow leopard and what changed with snow leopard is the location of the “receipts” folder, most of the info on the web regarding a reinstall of fcp talks about going to machd>library>receipts and deleting any info pertaining to fcp, but what it doesnt tell you is that folder is moved with snow leopard. all of that information is now in a hidden folder, but you can still access it and delete your fcp files by;

    -opening up terminal
    -type; open /var/db/receipts

    this should open the location of all of those files, be careful of what you are deleting im sure there are files that you will need for other programs and such. just thought i would give everyone a heads up of what we found.

    thanks,
    kevin
