  Firewire raid drive for Final Cut media storage on iMac

  I’m going to by an iMac Quad-core i7.
  I edit in Final cut and I’m looking for a good external drive for media capture and rendering.
  Would the 2TB G-raid Esata 400 Rpm Dual Drive with raid 0 FW800 FW800 USB 2.0 be a good option?
  Right now I edit DV footage but I’ll soon edit HDV footage.

  FW800 is what you’d use to connect to the iMac. FW800 maxes out at around 80MB/sec. Most drives now days are faster than than. So if you get a g-tech 2TB drive or a g-raid 2TB raid, they’ll both max out at around 80MB/sec over FW800.

  I would suggest just buying the single drive version. Less expensive and less can go wrong with it.
