  23.98 vs 29.97

  I was given a video to edit in XDCAM EX 1080p24 and the audio mp3 I have is in 29.97. The sync is off between the two.

  The producer says they ran the audio from an ipod into speakers for on set playback. What are my options for getting these tracks to sync up?

  Audio files don’t have a frame rate, only a sample rate. Use Compressor to convert your mp3 to an uncompressed PCM 16-bit 48KHz stereo aiff file and import it into your FCP sequence.

  Actually I was able to get the sync after all keeping the audio in its original format. But that tip is certainly great for next time.
