True 24 audio with 24p picture problem
Hi there. I’m and editor and I just got a call from a tech on set. He tells me that my audio was mistakenly recorded at true 24, while the picture they’re shooting was recorded at 23.976 (aka 24p). (They’re shooting with a Lumix). I told him that moving forward they should correct the audio and record at 24p. But as for today’s out of sync footage…
I’ve looked at other threads about this on the Cow, but I still have a question…
Is there anything that they can do on set when converting these files to ProRes for me to shift the audio? Or should I tell them when they sync them to just shift the audio 1% using cinematools? I really feel this is their problem, but I have a crazy short timeline on this and I’m trying to help them help me if you know what I mean.
