February 24, 2010 at 11:52 pmIt come with FCP6 (FCS2) the codec you can download is a play only version, you cannot encode TO ProRes. So what version of FCP do you have installed?

February 25, 2010 at 12:14 amCurrently operating FCP 5. My challenge is I operate a G5 which will not accept FCp 7 and I have a Power Mac that will but I do the majority of my editing on the G5. Is there another setting that will allow me to upres to HD on Compressor 2?

February 25, 2010 at 12:32 amYou have several HD codecs for a quality compressed format try DVCProHD.
If you want ProRes you will need to find a FCP6 no way around it.
[Jim Hoey] “Power Mac “ do you mean a Mac Pro, a Power Mac is not an Intel system.

February 25, 2010 at 1:14 amGo to AMAZON.COM and buy FCS 2…containing FCP 6. This has the prores codecs, and is still for sale. Or eBay.

February 25, 2010 at 3:21 amThanks Shane – you saved my rear a couple of years ago with the Simple video out – I appreciate it. Is the Suite the update for Final Cut Studio?

February 25, 2010 at 3:41 amIt IS Final Cut Studio. Final Cut Studio 2. If you have FCS1 or previous FCP versions, they sell an upgrade for cheaper. Finding all that used is the trick. Or NEW, but still for sale.
