size of text layer for expression width
hi guys,
i’m trying to figure out how to make an expression that will push layers along the x-axis so that when i scale a layer or two or three (all layers being in a line), the other layers move left or right to accommodate the new sized layers. kinda like the apple doc, but that’s not what i’m trying to do.
i’ve looked at the apple dock posts but they don’t seem to work for me… mainly because it appears that the “width” value of a text layer is the size of the comp, not the width of my piece of text?i have some maths equations, and i want these to fluctuate and change, and though that i could have segments of the equation scaled to zero hidden between the other pieces, and when i grow them to 100%, the other layers will move to allow room for the new numbers/symbols.
do i have to precomp all my numbers and symbols? if so, this will be very tedious, as i’ll essentially have to have a precomp for each letter and number and symbol (a lot!)
can anyone point me in the right direction?
thanks,
scott.
