  White Screen in Preview Box

  Hello, how are you wonderful people doing today? I’m having a problem with a new Mac that I’m using. The computer isn’t new, but it’s new to me because I’m now using a new studio at a friends house. When I open FCP, both the preview box and program box is white. When I play a clip, the clip plays, but it goes back to white when I stop it. It is supposed to be on a freeze frame so that I can frame by frame edit. Maybe he has the settings wrong, but I’m not sure. Does anyone know what I am talking about?

  Check channels under the view menu, and see whether it is set to alpha. Set it to RGB.

  I think you are showing the alpha channel and that channel is set to white.
