  AVCHD and FCP7

  The good old AVCHD and FCP 7 problems.

  OK, I’m using FCP 7 and trying to log and transfer from a Panasonic (can’t remember the model) camera using SD cards. The footage itself is on hard drives and I’m trying to log and transfer from that.

  But every time I try and set a custom location it still returns the same error of “‘Private’ contains unsupported media…” regardless of which directory I select.

  Does FCP have a problem with importing AVCHD stuff from HDD and not original SD cards? What directory structure is FCP expecting?

  HMC-150? Or the PAL version?

  FCP doesn’t have an issue with AVCHD…it handles it well. But unless the EXACT and FULL card structure is maintained, then it will have an issue importing the footage right.
