  Sync Issue with DVC PRO 24p video

  Hey guys – I have some DVC PRO HD video shot and digitized at 24fps. The quicktime files are good and lip sync is on but when I import the QT files into FCP suddenly they are out of sync when I play them down (they are uniformly out of sync by about 1 sec. and don’t drift as the play). It doesn’t matter if I play them down in the viewer or on a timeline – they remain out of sync. But if I export the out of sync video from a timeline, the resulting QT file is in sync/perfect. What gives? Is this a playback issue in FCP? My sequence settings are set to the video’s native format – do I need to adjust a setting to rectify?

  24fps? or 23.98?

  ONE SECOND out of sync? Look in the SYSTEM SETTINGS, PLAYBACK CONTROL tab and see what the frame offset is.
