Hi. I have a 1080p 24fps HD source movie in my final cut timeline. I’d like to export this as an mpeg2 so I can create an NTSC dvd in adobe encore. I am new to final cut, having used premiere for years. I believe I should be using compressor to export from final cut, but I’m not sure how to do this or what settings to use, especially considering the conversion from HD to NTSC. Can someone please explain to me this process? Once again, I am trying to go from 24 fps 1080 HD to a 29.97 fps progressive NTSC dvd.

    Thanks…

To answer your question Im going to quote the answer from a vary similar question asked earlier today.

[David Roth Weiss] “This question is asked several times every day, and the answer can be found with a simple search using the Cow’s search mechanism with the words “HD to DVD.” “

There are no “technical solutions” to your “artistic problems”.
Don’t let technology get in the way of your creativity!

you don’t want to do to 29.97 progressive, you want 24 Progressive in Compressor. And as Zane and David posted the rest of the settings are here and in the DVDSP forum.
