Final Cut Pro and Adobe Premeire on Same Mac
Posted by Jim Knott on January 5, 2010 at 2:20 amI currently have a Mac Pro with 2 x 3 GHZ Quad Core Intel Xeon Processors. I am looking for some advice on whether or not this computer will handle Final Cut Pro and Adobe Premiere Pro CS4 on the same machine or will this cause conflicts?
Thanks in advance for your comments.

January 5, 2010 at 3:01 amHi Jim,
It shouldn’t be any problem.
I haven’t heard of anybody complaining about any issue.

January 6, 2010 at 1:48 pmNo problems at all. Otherwise our FCP XML import wouldn’t be a very useful feature. 😉

January 7, 2010 at 4:41 amHi Dennis,
I see that you are very updated in PP.
I don’t use it my self but some times would be very convenient for me bring PP sequences (?) to my Mac.
These would mostly be basics cuts without effects animations or whatever.
Can PP export PP XMLs that FC can understand?
Cheers,

Just to be clear, I am an Adobe employee and I tend to monitor this forum in relation to questions around Apple/Adobe workflows. 😉
Premiere Pro can import FCP XML but not export it to FCP for CS4. Adobe has shown a FCP exporter but it has not been released for a couple of reasons.
