  changing sequence settings in middle of project

  Hello,

  I’m working on a project that I took over that was shot
  in 1440x1080i 50

  The sequence setting were 1280×720

  We want to finish in the settings of
  1440×1080

  I’ve tried several times to copy and paste my old sequence into the new sequence
  settings but the image is stretched.
  I’ve tried cutting in a shot from original footage and then cutting in the the entire sequence, but
  the image is still stretched horizontally-

  I also tried “Scale to Sequence Size” and that didn’t work either…

  Does anyone have any suggestions as to how to just have this resized completely without having to go in and matching every shot and replacing it to the new sequence settings?

  After you pasted, then highlight ALL the clips, right-click on them and choose REMOVE ATTRIBUTES. Check off SCALE and DISTORT.

  Thank you,

  When I highlight all the clips and right click and choose remove attributes, my choices
  are to remove Basic Motion- not scale…

  I also have several areas where I have made boxes and split screens and resized clips within the
  boxes. And this strips them of the effects.

  I did try it though and it does rescale and remove the stretched images on the clips that are
  without effects embedded in them.

  If you have any other thoughts on the clips with effects on them- the split screens and multiple boxes,
  that would be great!

  Ellen,

  There is no way you can build split screen effects in a sequence that is set improperly and hope that your work will translate properly to another sequence with correct settings. You will undoubtedly have to rebuild the effects.

  Think of the entire experience as a powerful lesson, which in this case is that there is absolutely nothing more important than starting a project properly.
