• Apple Final Cut Pro Legacy

  MPEG IMX 525/60 Codec

  I’ve been given a drive with quite a few episodes of a show we’re going to be cutting some promos for beginning Monday, Jan.4th.

  We’re going to use FCP 6.02 running on a MacPro 10.5.6 2×2.8GHz Quadcore Intel Xeon.

  The codec they’re asking for is MPEG IMX 525/60. I can’t find a copy of that codec anywhere. I thought I’d seen them all. I cannot get it to play video in QT or FCP.

  The client is gone for the weekend so I can’t get a copy of the codec from them. They told me earlier they were digitizing using FCP. I’ve searched the board but can’t find links to a codec. I’ve searched the web without and luck as well. I will totaly buy one if I have to and it’s available.

  Any help would be appreciated and thanks in advance.

  You don’t need a copy of the codec, it’s included in FCP since version 5.

  Hey Devin,

  Thanks for the reply. You made me think to check the QT library and it appears someone had pulled out a bunch of the codecs when we had a corruption issue we were trying to trouble shoot. I found the IMX codec, threw it back in and everything’s fine.
