Dropping Frames Warning
This might be a fairly easy question to answer, but when I was working on a new project the warning window kept on coming up for dropping frames all the time! So I figured I would worry about it later and checked the box to not warn me again. But now I was going to see what caused the problem of dropping frames and fix it. But I cant get the box to come up again to see what cause was to drop frames. So how do I get that box to start popping back up again?

It’s in your FCP prefs. To solve your problem, you need faster hard drives. A RAID won’t hurt.

In fact, it will help a whole lot.
And, by turning off the dropped frames warning during capture, it’s very possible, even likely, that you have indeed captured video with dropped frames, which would make recapturing virtually impossible. That dropped frames warning isn’t just there to be an annoyance, it’s there to save your butt.

The “Report dropped frames during playback” is in FCPs User Preferences “OPTION Q” look in the General Tab.
Various things can cause FCP to drop frames, making sure there is no media or renders on your System Drive is a good place to start.
And yes having the Dropped frame window pop up every so often is a pain, but the reason it pops up is to warn you of a problem. Fixing it as soon as possible is a best practice as noted above.
