    First, here’s what I’m using:

Final Cut Pro 6.0.6 on 27″ iMac w/ 3.06 ghz. I have an AJA IO la box with audio coming from a Mackie board and video going into the AJA through composite input. AJA output is firewire 400 to firewire 800 into the mac.

    I’m having several issues:
    1) the SD video I shoot looks like it’s going into FCP uncompressed (it’s also capturing 4 channels of audio, even though I’m only feeding 2, the other two are blank). Also, I’ve used FCP for several years and it seems like the clips are taking up too much real estate on my hard drive. I’ve tried several other settings, but either the video is disabled or the audio is switched to the internal mic on the iMac.

    2) Every time I try to put a graphic on the timeline, it comes out blurry. Doesn’t matter the resolution, it ALWAYS does this.

    3) After I export to an MOV file (standard def) and try to burn in iDVD, the video gets squished into 16×9. My only work-around on this is taking the MOV to my mac mini and burning it there.

Any suggestions on what settings I should be using would be most appreciated.

    James
