  Adding the SOURCE FILE NAME as a burn-in on the clip on the sequence

  Hey guys,

  I’ve seen other posts on here about it and there are some good solutions but just wondering if anyone has come up with any new ways or found any plug ins that will create a text overlay, a watermark, or a burn in of the actual FILE NAME of a clip on a sequence? This would make it easier to spot what clip is being used just in case two files are named the same clip or vice versa. Thanks!

  How about this: Your “clip name” IS your filename!

  Example: 1223A04-1 ( Translation: December 23, A camera, 4th load, clip 1)

  If you stick to this kind of convention, you will never have a problem finding a “clip” vs “file”.
  Of course this means that you can NOT rename your clips something in english like “CU Bill enters room”.
  The place to do that is in the “Comments” or “Notes” column.

  This is a difficult concept for Avid editors to grasp, but once you get the hang of it, your project organization and uprez will go much more smoothly.
