  • How do I reinstall FCS?

    Hi,

I realize this has probably been covered countless times but after a half hour of searching, I’m not finding a simple cohesive answer. I have a post down below titled “mac OS crashed, now playback looks low-res”. I fear it may get overlooked now, but am still struggling with the same problem. If I were to reinstall FCS2, how do I do it? Do I need to find and run FCS Removal – or something? Or do I just pop in the disks and start installing (overtop essentially). Thanks for any help,

    Chris

Your best bet is to install both the operating system and FCS onto a new hard drive, then install in your computer.

Or, clone the current system drive to an inexpensive firewire drive using Carbon Copy Cloner (free). Then, test the clone to make sure it boots. Next, erase the system drive and install both the OS and FCS from the ground up.

As an interim test you could try to uninstall using FCP Remover from Digital Rebellion to see if that does the trick.
